Every summer Oklahoma University's Couch Towers morphs into central headquarters for the staff and students who participates in Camp Crimson. The mission of the Camp Crimson Staff is to hold a no holds barred fun and informative event for approximately 500 freshmen and transferring students. The final goal is to build confidence and a sense of community through fun, fun and more fun.
The Main Man
- Long Days
- Longer Nights
- Tireless Energy
The man of the hour (are shall we say the man of the week) for the success of Camp Crimson is Zach Stevens, OU's Camp Crimson's Director. Zach along with a staff of 30 or more current OU students are the force that make the camp an enjoyable time for all.
Camp Crimson participants enjoy the experience so much that many volunteer to return as counselors and mentors for the next year's Camp. Lara Landers a third year student at OU had great things to say about her experience as a camp counselor as well as a former camper.

What About Mom & Dad???
- From Worries to Relaxation
- Letting Go is Hard to Do
- Cutting the Apron Strings
Dropping your child off for the first time at college can stir up many emotions, tears, worries and even panic. Will little Johnny or Jane eat right? Will they remember how to sort the light clothes from the colors? How much is four, five or heaven forbid six years going to cost me for the college experience? You get the picture. Mom and Dad are left to commiserate while Johnny or Jane meet new friends and build confidence at Camp Crimson.
Not all parents struggle with the long good byes of seeing their college freshman spread their wings. Some families have a long family tradition of attending the same University. Check out the video of the Jones family whose third child is following their footsteps to OU and Camp Crimson.
